A Night for Awards...
Last night David Sproxton, Nick Park and Peter Lord were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Bristol Post Business Awards at a ceremony that took place at the Passenger Shed.
The accolade recognises individuals that have made a lasting contribution to business over a prolonged period within the region. David, Nick and Peter were all in attendance at the ceremony which saw companies from across the city get together to celebrate all that is great about Bristol – innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and good old-fashioned hard work.
“ Well, what a surprise it was to be given a Lifetime Achievement Award when we are all so young, at least young at heart. We really had no idea it was coming until moments before we stepped up to collect the award. Although, it has to be said there was something a little fishy about us all being invited to this event and sitting on the same table, right at the front of the room in front of the stage, with the Editor of the Evening Post. Although the award was given to Nick, Pete and me it has to be said that it is really in recognition of what so many people in the company have done for Aardman over the last four decades. So feel free to congratulate yourselves on being part of this wonderful business, which is seen as representing so much of what is good about Bristol. So here’s to you all , from Pete, Nick and me, and if you are asking, we’re keeping the framed certificates in our own offices!” said David Sproxton, Co-founder and Executive Chairman, Aardman Animations.
Aardman were also lucky enough to pick up two awards at the Televisual Bulldog awards, the UK television production awards, that also took place yesterday evening in London. The Shaun the Sheep production team picked up the prize for Best Children’s Series and also received Best in Show for the multi-award winning property.
