Celebrate 40 years of craft, comedy and cracking characters with Aardman

or 40 years, Aardman has entertained and charmed the world, creating much-loved characters and bringing unforgettable stories to life. The studio’s multi-award-winning productions reflect the exceptional talent of the very special people who make up the Aardman team. Their work is often imitated yet Aardman continues to lead the field with a unique combination of animation wizardry and humour.

This year, Aardman is observing its 40th anniversary with a series of special events, exhibitions and merchandise to mark the occasion.  The celebrations kick off on the 27th July as the studio begins an entertaining 40-day countdown to their official birthday date of the 4th September, where fans will be able to consume a specially curated piece of content via the Aardman website.  Each day, a classic clip, exciting behind the scenes video, interactive experience or some of Aardman’s lesser known work will unlock for audiences to enjoy.

Fans will be delighted to hear that they will be able to get their hands on some very special products that are set to launch between now and the end of the year, including a commemorative Isle of Man Post Office stamp collection and gift products, beautifully crafted Steiff plush ornaments of some of Aardman’s best-loved characters and The Art of Aardman book (Simon & Schuster UK), a stunning collection of rarely seen drawings, storyboards and stills celebrating forty years of creative output from the award-winning film studio.

Later in September, animation and art enthusiast will also have the chance to own their very own original piece of Aardman art that is being exhibited and sold at The Illustration Cupboard gallery in London.  An exciting array of original artwork from Aardman artists will be on show, including drawings and character studies of Wallace & Gromit by Nick Park and the inimitable Morph by Peter Lord. There will also be a specially produced sculpture of Morph on display and many other pieces, prices starting from under £500.
