New Shaun the Sheep branded attractions open in Japan
ollowing on from the success of ‘Shaun the Sheep Family Farm’ in Osaka, a second indoor play park for families has opened its doors in Eastern Japan to coincide with the grand re-opening of The Mall in Sendai Nagamachi.
The park contains Shaun’s Climbing Hill where physically active kids can climb, slide and play, big soft block puzzles and educational wooden toys at the Shirley’s Puzzle area, a stage show area where children can ‘meet’ and get active with Shaun as well as Timmy’s Marche and Timmy’s Toddler Zone, offering a safe and interactive playing environment for younger children. There’s even space for adults to relax in Bitzer’s relaxation area. The facility also features a retail area offering a large selection of Shaun the Sheep products including a small range of items exclusive to ‘Shaun the Sheep Family Farm’.
The opening of the play park comes just weeks after a permanent ‘Shaun the Sheep Sunday Brunch’ café opened in Tokyo. The café, located in Kichijoji Parco, which originally launched as a themed pop-up in celebration of Aardman’s 40th anniversary in 2016, has now become a permanent restaurant following an unprecadented number of customers visiting the café resulting in a 180% uplift in sales during its original opening.
The Sunday Brunch café is now even bigger and better and offers unique dining experience for all the family. Fans can enjoy Shaun the Sheep character inspired dishes and seasonal menus alongside special Shaun the Sheep Sunday Brunch products including mugs, tote bags, note books and tea bags. There’s even a chance to see the real Shaun the Sheep on display.
Both attractions were developed in partnership with Tohokushinsha Film Corporation who represent the studio in Japan and add to Aardman’s extensive international portfolio of branded attractions and live experiences.
