Twit or Miss

Client Penguin Random House

We were asked to:

Create a fun, and inventive app as the first digital experience of Roald Dahl’s The Twits. Inspired by the inimitable stories of Dahl and the iconic art of Quentin Blake, the goal was to create something mischievous and gross enough to be worthy of the brand, drawing in fans of the books and those who might go on to become fans as a result.

So we made:

Twit or Miss, a disgusting new game featuring artwork based on Quentin Blake’s original illustrations that accompany the book, raising Dahl’s gruesome fiction to a digital platform. Players must aim for a high score by keeping the game going and preventing food from flying out of Mr Twit’s grisly meal and waking up Mrs Twit. The game involves an easy to learn and hard to master system of trick shots, multipliers and hidden secrets, keeping players coming back for more as they try to beat their top score!

As a result:

Twit or Miss’ became the No.1 Kids app in 20 countries, as well as being featured in the “Best new apps” category in 30 countries! Available on iOS and Android; Twit or Miss was also one of the very first commercially released games using Unity’s WebGL exporter, allowing anyone with a modern desktop browser to enjoy the game without needing to download an app or any additional software.
