A one day intensive storyboarding workshop with acclaimed storyboard artist Sylvia Bull.
During the day’s workshop Sylvia aims to highlight the role of storyboards used in animation for film and television.
Using examples of her work, she’ll discuss the importance of understanding simple film language and how camera placement is used to tell a story, including the choice of camera shot, framing and background, as well as camera movements, editing and timing.
Narrative flow within a sequence will also be discussed and shown with examples of work.
There will be an exploration of colour scripts and the way American studios such as Pixar and Dreamworks use them in Animated Feature Films.
The day will culminate with participants producing a short storyboard sequence.
