Learning Time with Timmy now available on TV Educa Chile
Aardman and the British Council are pleased to share that Learning Time with Timmy, a globally televised educational series aimed at young children learning English as a second language, is now available on TV Educa Chile, a free platform established to provide high quality content to young children during the pandemic throughout all of Chile.
The content consists of 26 x 5-minute core episodes in addition to 22 x 2-minute bonus episodes that will reinforce and enrich children’s understanding of English.
The director of the British Council in Chile, Katherine Hutter, emphasised that “we are very happy to support this alliance, which will enable many children in Chile to access high quality content in English. Learning Time with Timmy was designed using techniques to facilitate English language acquisition at an early age. With the help of TV Educa Chile, we are able to make this content more accessible so that more children can continue to learn English at home during the pandemic.”
Learning Time with Timmy will help children acquire new vocabulary through themed activities and songs. The series is enriched with additional material for children as well as advice for parents, which are accessible on the official YouTube channel.
Apps like Timmy’s Learning New Skills, Timmy’s First Words in English and Timmy’s Starting to Read make learning more interactive and enjoyable through games and videos. These supplementary materials used alongside the series create an engaging and multidimensional learning experience for all children.
The British Council in Chile runs Learning Time with Shaun & Timmy and Primary Plus, English courses for children ages 2-12. Katherine Hutter explained that “the methodology behind these courses has been proven to be very effective, and we are very pleased to be offering these courses online now, benefitting a greater number of Chilean children.” More information available here.
