Aardman Academy to introduce two new model making courses in 2020
We’re pleased to announce that the Aardman Academy are currently designing two new model making courses to run in April and July 2020.
Both courses will taught by Senior Model Maker, Jim Parkyn.
First Steps model making – April 2020
What? This will be a 3 day intensive course in which participants make a generic training puppet, ideal for fundamental exercises like walk cycles, running, lifting and throwing. Participants will have a choice of a wire or a ball and socket armature and the puppet will be made up of removable parts. The course is aimed at students starting a degree, as well as participants and animation lecturers keen to learn the essentials of stop frame.
When? April 2020 – dates to be confirmed soon.
2 week model making summer school – July 2020
What? Jim will be joined by Senior Prop Maker Helen Javes for this two week summer school course. Further info to follow soon.
When? Monday 29th June – Friday 10th July 2020
