AARDMAN SALES & ACQUISITIONS ARM TO PRESENT NEW CONTENT SLATE AT KIDSCREEN SUMMIT
ardman’s international Sales & Acquisitions arm are heading to Kidscreen Summit in Miami this February to present the studios brand new development slate which boasts children’s and family specials and animated comedy series for both preschool and 7 to 11 year olds, alongside a host of high quality third party properties.
The team, who are the global rights representatives for exciting new preschool series Interstellar Ella (Grid Animation) which is set for delivery in spring 2020, are finalising international pre-sales for the show, which recently ranked at number 8 in the MIPCOM Junior screenings in October. They are also finalising further pre-sales for Happy (Paper Owl Films), a 52 x 7’ episode, 2D animated series about negotiating the rollercoaster of preschool feelings and friendships.
Kidscreen will also present an opportunity for Aardman to introduce preschool development slates from third party producers Fudge Animation Studios (UK), for their mixed-media series Socialbies and Fuzzy Duckling Media (New Zealand) for their CGI series Morgan lives in a Rocket House.
Socialbies is a new 52 x 11’ episode, story-driven activity show which is centred around the use of technology and the internet, aimed at 4 to 6 year olds. Morgan Lives in a Rocket is a 20 x 5’ episode series crafted in stunning CGI animation, following the adventures of a child marooned on an alien planet, light years from home.
Alison Taylor, Head of Sales & Acquisitions at Aardman is delighted to be representing such a diverse portfolio of children’s content at this year’s summit: “The current media landscape allows many exciting opportunities for new content to find a home. It’s the perfect time to take a wide-ranging portfolio to market and we are delighted to be representing such a diverse slate from these talented studios. We are thrilled that Aardman was ranked in the Kidscreen’s Hot50 companies as a distributor, and to extend this area of the business into development of new third party IP is a very exciting update for the studio”.
