After Fifteen Years, Aardman gets a Brand New Look!
fter fifteen years, Aardman has undergone a complete branding overhaul with a stunning new website and fun company stationary. The new-look site and printed materials capture the spirit of Aardman with a fresh, entertaining feel that puts the company’s work and creativity at the forefront of the design.
The new site allows Aardman’s abundance of work become the focus with simple, subtle branding that gives it room to shine. This was achieved through the use of full-screen HTML video, CSS animation and the creation of a custom filter system that allows each division of the company to showcase their work, whilst making it easy for users to search for particular projects or services. The site is fully responsive, working seamlessly across every platform possible and available on all devices.
The playfulness demonstrated in the design of the website has been carried through to the rest of the printed work, from the compliment slips featuring actual compliments (You look great!) and the business cards, to the sticker sheet that lets each employee customise the things they send with the classic ‘Aardman’ eyes and mouths.
Senior Designer Gav Strange was presented with the challenge of re-designing the studio’s image; “It’s been a huge honour to have been giving the opportunity to give Aardman a new look online and offline. As a huge fan that also happens to be part of the family, it’s been a rad ride all the way to produce something that shows off the wonderful work of so many talented people here in Bristol.”
To celebrate the launch, Aardman have opened a fun online competition where entrants are asked to curate a playlist of their favourite Aardman work using the site’s playlist creator, for the chance to win some exclusive Aardman goodies! For more details on how to enter visit the competition page.
