This course offers practical help and guidance for anyone looking to develop a career in the animation and film industry. Mark and Freya will offer a professionally focussed insight into the unique skills each person brings to a production, helping them to discover where they may best fit in.
Through hugely engaging and interactive workshops and masterclasses, Mark and Freya will give a professional understanding of film and animation production; the skills needed, the opportunities within any crew based production, and the pressures faced. They will help develop an idea of how to open doors and how to develop your career. The film and animation industry seems like a closed door to many and this course aims to overcome that by offering professional guidance and top tips when attempting to get your foot in the door.
The day will begin with a busy session where all participants are invited to engage in the process of understanding their own personality and crew based roles. They will then continue to explore ideas of teamwork and professional processes, resulting in an understanding of how best to navigate professional structures. This will include personal skills, essential professional skills and top tips to help them show the industry what makes them so employable. They will learn how production passes through different personnel, explore the three main pressures of every single production, and gain advice for self-branding to get themselves noticed. This will include “Do’s and Don’ts” of self-promotion, including CV’s, Showreels, and initial Emails. This will culminate in a Q &A from key department figures at Aardman, and recap of the entire days activities.
