2D Matte Painter & Background Artists - Series
Start and End Date: 26th July 2021 & 9th August – minimum from 26 weeks to a max of 36 weeks

Location: Remote working (must have eligibility to work in the UK).
We are looking for 2D Matte Painter & Background Artists to become part of Aardman’s first fully in-house CG/mixed medium series Lloyd of the Flies. The series will be 52eps x 11mins.
The 2D Matte Painter & Background Artist will provide high quality background colour keys and layered Matte paintings under the direction of the Art Director. You will take creative briefs from the Director and Art Director and Lead Background Artists and work with the Art Director, Lead Background Artist and CG Supervisor in finding creative and technical solutions in the use of digital matte paintings.
The successful candidate will provide high quality digital matte paintings for the 2D backgrounds from templates and references provided by series Leads, Art Director and Layout team.
You will work alongside the digital look development team in finding creative solutions and ensure continuity of style, lighting and tone across all matte paintings and back ground artwork for the Series. This will include work with existing file structures/ pipeline assets and to make recommendations where efficiencies and improvements could be made.
We are looking for someone with strong drawing skills and digital painting skills and ability to produce complex matte painted artwork to a high standard. You will have strong knowledge of working with a Cintiq and Photoshop & Illustrator. Knowledge of CG comp software and process useful eg Nuke or similar. Previous CG/TV series experience essential.
