Cracking Ideas Website

Client Intellectual Property Office

Develop a website for the Intellectual Property Office’s Cracking Ideas campaign using Wallace and Gromit to support an exhibition running at the Science Museum to inspire young people to get inventive.

A community website which both supported and extended the Cracking Ideas exhibition. Children were encouraged to have a go at being inventors through a series monthly challenges and a competition. They were provided with resources, inspiration and games, and could chat with other budding innovators on the website and then upload their ideas and creations. They were rewarded for taking part with a range of different achievement badges which they could collect and show off to other people in the community as well as there being regular winners for the challenges and competition. Exclusive goodies encouraged visitors to the exhibition to visit the website and continue their idea exploration.

The website allowed families to continue their idea development following their visit to the exhibition and create an active community of children who were inspired around the topic of invention and creativity.
