In December 2010 the Royal Mail launched a set of Wallace & Gromit Christmas stamps. On the back of this Aardman were asked to develop a digital component to maximise public engagement and awareness.


Have you ever wanted to see what you would look like as an Aardman character, but don’t have enough time or modelling clay? To support the launch of the Wallace and Gromit Christmas Stamps we developed a creative microsite which enables visitors to design and create their own Wallace and Gromit style stamps within a virtual studio. Users can customise their character add accessories and choose from a gallery of backgrounds. To maximise the reach of the interactive we included the ability for users to share their creations across social networks, use as wallpaper and display in an online gallery. Users can even order their own personalised set to stick alongside their Christmas stamps.


The result was a hugely popular and playful way for the public to get involved with the Wallace and Gromit Christmas stamps and to share their experience online.
