Lloyd of the Flies goes on a Grand Bug & Pest Hotel Hunt at RHS Gardens this summer

Aardman is partnering with The Royal Horticultural Society for a minibeast adventure on a grand scale this summer, featuring characters from our new comedy series, Lloyd of the Flies.

Lloyd will be coming to the RHS Gardens this summer as families join him on The Grand Bug & Pest Hotel Hunt!

Lloyd and his friends have gone to stay in a luxury bug hotel in the RHS Gardens but have got lost on the way. Children can enjoy seeking out characters including housefly Lloyd and his little sister PB, best friend Abacus the woodlouse and Cornea the butterfly in locations around the garden as they make their way towards The Grand Bug & Pest Hotel. Along the way, there will be a host of fascinating minibeast facts and interactive fun.

For the first time ever at RHS Gardens, families can use a special Augmented Reality app developed by Aardman to ‘shrink’ down to fly size and see the world through insect eyes as they complete the trail with Lloyd and his friends. Suitable for children of all ages, the Lloyd of the Flies AR Bug Hunt app will see characters from the hit CITV show pop up amongst the flowers in selected locations at RHS Bridgewater, RHS Harlow Carr, RHS Hyde Hall, RHS Rosemoor and RHS Wisley. The app will be free to download from July from the App Store and Google Play Store and includes lots of interactive activities for the whole family to enjoy.

RHS Bridgewater, Saturday 22 July – Sunday 3 September

Follow the interactive trail around the garden to find Lloyd and friends, and join in with fun family activities, including model-making and animation workshops with Aardman, outdoor theatre performances and the chance to meet real-life minibeasts.

RHS Harlow Carr, Saturday 22 July – Sunday 3 September

Find Lloyd and friends on the family-fun garden trail, and take part in a range of exciting workshops including modelling, animation and Lego, circus skills and more, or relax with yoga sessions for all and the incredible Paris bubble show!

RHS Hyde Hall, Saturday 22 July – Sunday 3 September

Take the trail around the garden to find Lloyd and friends, and enjoy a range of fun family activities including Aardman animation and model-making workshops, interactive storytelling, Zoolab meet-and-greets with animals and bugs, theatre performance and crafts.

RHS Rosemoor, Saturday 22 July – Sunday 3 September

Seek out Lloyd and friends on the garden trail, plus a host of family fun throughout the holidays, including outdoor theatre performances, a chance to take part in a snail race, model-making workshops and animal encounters with Exmoor Zoo.

RHS Wisley, Saturday 22 July – Monday 28 August

Join Lloyd on the garden trail to find his friends and family. Take part in cookery sessions, Zoolab bug handling sessions, Aardman animation and modelling workshops as well as nature workshops and planting and craft sessions.
